Our commitment
Everyone who lives at, works at, or visits King’s Lodge has the right to be safe. Safeguarding adults at risk of abuse or neglect is not a box we tick. It is central to how we run our home.
We are committed to preventing harm, to acting quickly when a concern is raised, and to creating a culture where residents, families, and staff feel able to speak up.
What we protect against
We work to recognise and prevent all forms of abuse, including physical, psychological, financial, sexual, and discriminatory abuse, as well as neglect and self-neglect. Our staff are trained to notice the signs and to understand that anyone can be a source of concern.
We follow the Care Act 2014, local Surrey Safeguarding Adults Board procedures, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards where they apply.
How our staff are trained
Every member of staff completes safeguarding training as part of their induction and refreshes it regularly. All staff are recruited through safer recruitment practices, including enhanced DBS checks and reference verification.
We have a named safeguarding lead, and all staff know how to escalate a concern without delay.
Raising a concern
If you are worried that someone at King’s Lodge may be at risk, please tell us straight away. You can speak to any member of staff, ask for the safeguarding lead, or call us on 01737 822221.
You can also contact Surrey County Council Adult Social Care or, if someone is in immediate danger, the police on 999. We will always take your concern seriously and act on it.
