Activities & Enrichment

Tailored around individual hobbies, introducing new experiences, and making every day worth getting up for.

Person-Centred, Not One-Size-Fits-All

Activities at King's Lodge are not about filling time. They are about filling life. Every programme is built around who you are, what you enjoy, and what brings you meaning.

Residents baking together in the kitchen

Cooking & Baking

Our adapted kitchen allows residents to bake cakes, prepare meals, and enjoy the sensory experience of cooking. From kneading bread to decorating biscuits, food brings people together.

Arts and crafts session

Arts & Crafts

Painting, drawing, card-making, and seasonal projects. Adapted tools ensure everyone can participate, regardless of mobility. The results often end up on display around the home.

Accessible gardens at King's Lodge

Gardening

Raised beds make gardening accessible for wheelchair users. Planting, watering, and harvesting bring residents into the fresh Surrey air and connect them to the seasons.

Residents enjoying breakfast club

Breakfast Club

More than a meal. Breakfast club is a social gathering where residents start their day together, choosing what they want to eat and catching up over tea and toast.

Bridge club and games afternoon

Bridge Club & Games

Card games, board games, quizzes, and bridge. These sessions keep minds active, encourage friendly competition, and create genuine laughter in the communal lounge.

Theme night celebration

Theme Nights

From Hawaiian evenings to 1960s dance nights, themed events bring colour, music, and joy. Families are always welcome to join in the celebrations.

Sensory room for calm stimulation

Sensory Room

A dedicated space for calm, focused stimulation. Fibre optic lights, textured surfaces, and soothing sounds help residents with neurological conditions find peace and engagement.

Hairdressing session

Hairdressing

A visiting hairdresser comes regularly. Looking good matters. A fresh cut or style can lift spirits and help residents feel like themselves. It is a small thing that means a great deal.

Community outing

Community Outings

Trips to local shops, parks, garden centres, and events. Getting out into the community keeps residents connected to the world beyond King's Lodge.

One-to-One and Group

Not everyone thrives in group settings. Our activities team, led by Jane, provides one-to-one sessions for residents who prefer individual attention. Whether it is reading aloud, hand massage, reminiscence work, or simply sitting together with music, every person's needs are met on their own terms.

"Activities are tailored around individual hobbies, introducing new experiences, and always respecting what each person wants from their day."
