"No two days are the same, because no two people are the same. But every day here is built around one thing: making life feel like life."
Gentle Wake-Up
There is no alarm bell. No fluorescent lights flicking on at 6am. Our care team begins the morning gently, on each resident's own terms. Some people are early risers who love to watch the Surrey countryside wake up from their window. Others prefer a slower start. Personal care is provided with warmth and patience, and medication rounds are handled quietly, without fuss.
Breakfast Club
Chef Margaret and her team prepare breakfast fresh every morning. This is not a canteen. Residents choose what they want, when they want it. Porridge, eggs, toast, fruit, cereals, and always a hot drink ready. For those with swallowing difficulties, texture-modified options are prepared with the same care and presentation. Breakfast club is as much about conversation and connection as it is about food.
Morning Activities & Therapy
The morning is when most therapy sessions take place. Physiotherapy in our on-site gym. Speech and language therapy. Occupational therapy focused on maintaining and recovering independence. Between sessions, Jane and the activities team run group and one-to-one activities: arts and crafts, gardening when the weather allows, cooking sessions in our adapted kitchen, or simply a walk around the grounds with one of our three therapy dogs. The sensory room is available for residents who benefit from calm, focused stimulation.
Lunch
A proper sit-down meal, freshly prepared, with choices offered every day. The dining room is a social space where residents eat together if they wish. For those who prefer to eat in their rooms, meals are brought with the same care and presentation. Dietary requirements are not an afterthought. They are part of the conversation from day one. Pureed meals look and taste like food, not baby food. That matters.
Afternoon Activities
Afternoons are for living. Bridge club meets twice a week. The hairdresser visits regularly. Community outings are organised when possible, to local shops, parks, or events. Theme nights bring variety: movie afternoons, music sessions, quizzes, and seasonal celebrations. Some residents prefer a quiet afternoon with a book or the radio. Others want to be in the thick of it. Both are equally respected.
Afternoon Tea
A proper afternoon tea with cake, biscuits, sandwiches, and hot drinks. This is one of the most popular times of day. Families often time their visits around afternoon tea because it is relaxed, warm, and feels like home.
Supper
The evening meal is lighter but no less thoughtful. Chef Margaret's team prepare options that residents genuinely enjoy. Supper is followed by time to relax, watch television, chat with friends, or spend time in the communal areas.
Evening Wind-Down
The evening is personal. Some residents enjoy a film in the lounge. Others prefer to retire early with a hot drink and a quiet room. Our night team is fully trained in specialist neurological care and is present throughout the night. There is no gap in care. No agency staff scrambling to find notes. The same team that knows each resident is here when the lights go down.
